I’m honored to be a recommended Wethele Manor wedding photographer and to be invited back to photograph Tawonga and Ed’s wedding was nothing short of a dream! I first met Tawonga and Ed for their engagement photoshoot in Coventry back in 2020… which now seems like a lifetime ago! We managed to meet before the nation went into a second lockdown. Nothing was stopping these two from celebrating then and nothing was going to stop them now!
This determination carried on throughout their wedding planning process and into their wedding day which took place in July 2021 when strict government guidelines were still in place. What I took away from this day is that love truly wins. Fear doesn’t stand a chance when God brings two people together who really, wholly and truly cannot be separated by anything. In the face of uncertainty, Tawonga and Ed were steadfast in their love for one another and chose to celebrate with as many friends and family as possible even if it meant they had to adapt their plans.
Tawonga got ready with her mum and bridesmaids in the Wethele Manor bridal cabins. Deborah Esther and Nicky Foster worked their magic on the girls’ hair and makeup and Paradise Blooms curated the most beautiful summer wedding boquets. Tawonga had two wedding dresses, one from Proposals in Coventry and a traditional African dress from MadKollection for the evening which was a true showstopper!
It was important to Tawonga and Ed to be married by their pastor in their home church, Coventry Elim. Even though guests had to wear masks, it didn’t hinder the joy that was tangible in the room. Afterwards, we made our way back for wedding photography at Wethele Manor, dinner, speeches and a first dance outside under the lit-up canopy. Tawonga and Ed may have had to alter their plans to be a covid-friendly wedding, but it did not stop the joy and laughter that filled this day. I felt so lucky to be their Wethele Manor wedding photographer and to have witnessed their beautiful celebration. ❤️
