When I first met Alice and James for their engagement shoot at Burton Dasset Hills (which you can see here!) we talked all about their plans for their summer wedding. We never thought managing a global pandemic would be part of the plan!
Every time I look back on this year, I’m just dumbfounded in a way and lost for words. Everything can change, overnight. But what never changed was the love Alice and James have for each other and their commitment to God and to each other to join together as husband and wife.
As heartbreaking as it was for them to accept their wedding wasn’t going to be as they’d dreamed it to be, their first focus was always to be husband and wife. Their joy and relief to finally be married really showed through on their day and it was beautiful to capture!
As soon as the government announced weddings of 30 people could take place, Alice gave me a phone call and we started to make arrangements for their wedding ceremony at St Pauls in Leamington Spa.
My favorites moments of the day were Alice’s family seeing her in her dress for the first time, the newlyweds exiting the church surprised to see nearly half the town turned up to congratulate them, and of course, celebrating with ice-cream cones at Jephson Gardens!
I love what Alice said after the wedding day… “Thank you so much for documenting our wedding day. It was honestly the best day of our lives. So so different to how we originally planned it but genuinely wouldn’t have had it any different!”
It might not have happened the way they thought it would, but their wedding turned out to be the best day of their lives!! I love that! COVID can’t stop us. Love is not canceled. :)
If you’re hoping to get married this year and would love to have photos to document it, I am offering hourly coverage for weekday and weekend weddings. Please do send me a message here and let’s chat!
