“Thank you so much!!! They are brilliant. We have enjoyed showing the photos to our family this weekend and they are all so impressed with the photos. You have managed to capture so much of the energy and fun of the day and seemed to be in the right place so much of the day! All the time being so inconspicuous and calming throughout it all.
Hope you have a good summer of weddings. Thank you for capturing our day so well.”
Hannah and David are hands down one of the sweetest, generous and most down to earth people I have ever had the privilege of meeting. From the very beginning when our conversations were contained in an email inbox, to their engagement shoot at Westonbirt Arboretum in Gloucestershire, all the way through to their wedding day at The Barn at Upcote in Cheltenham, they have been considerate and gracious through and through.
I don’t think Hannah could have been a more relaxed bride the morning of her wedding even if she tried! Her character is full of peace and grace and it just overflows into whatever room she’s in. With the cutest matching kimonos and bubbly, Hannah and her five bridesmaids had their hair and makeup done by Bella Bridal Hair at Hannah’s parent’s house… in plenty of time to arrive at the bride and groom’s home church, Trinity Church, for the wedding ceremony.
As believers, Hannah and David made sure their wedding ceremony was full of praise and thanks to God. Their love for God was truly made evident in the songs they sang, the scripture readings and the friends and family they asked to pray over their married life together. And what better way to celebrate their marriage than by showering them with bucket-fulls of dried flower petal confetti and joining them at The Barn At Upcote for Prosecco, canapés and lawn games. After a three-course meal catered by Mcbaile Catering, there were heartfelt speeches (Hannah even surprised David and their guests with the sweetest poem!) and to top it all off, the biggest barn ceilidh I’ve ever seen!
I can’t get enough of barn wedding decor with wildflower arrangements as table centerpieces. Even these white wooden chairs are adorable! Barn weddings naturally have a down to earth, outdoorsy feel and are aesthetically pleasing (not to mention great backgrounds for photographs) without having to do much to them. In renovated barns like The Barn at Upcote, you have the comfort of indoors while also being able to enjoy drinks in the outdoors and have a big barn space for dancing- you can’t lose!
Hannah wanted to twirl in her A-line lace sleeve wedding dress… and I think David felt like he was missing out!
These dusty pink bridesmaid dresses from Marks and Spencer were an amazing find! And with vintage rose bouquets by The Flower Girls to compliment, these bridesmaids looked beautiful.
Do you recognize these? Becky and Kieran, one of my 2016 couples!!
Hannah and David, I feel lucky to know you and even luckier to have been your wedding photographer. But then I again, I know luck has nothing to do with it. ;) Enjoy your marriage. Have the BEST time together. You’re not settling down, you’re only getting started. What amazing things are in store for you.
