This season I was given the opportunity to visit a city I used to live near and go to all the time as a teenager. It’s been over 7 years since I’ve been back to Cambridge and what better excuse to return than for Sarah and Aaron’s wedding day!
Huge thanks to Kate Jackson Photography for hiring me as her second photographer for this wonderful wedding. I loved every minute of it and must share a snippet of the day with you all, in particular, Magdalene College– the most charming and romantic venue for Sarah and Aaron’s wedding celebration.
Snugly situated in the middle of Cambridge, lined by the River Cam (you can practically reach out and touch it!), you get both the atmospheric beauty of the city and the architectural beauty of Magdalene College itself.
This Cambridge wedding venue offers privacy for your wedding ceremony, and also the bustling of the famous Cambridge town center just outside its gates. It’s not common you get the best of both worlds!
Magdalene College also provides an outdoor wedding ceremony space in front of the Pepys building decorated with magnificent hanging flower baskets…
For the evening, guests are invited to a candlelight dinner in the grand 16th century College Hall featuring the Heraldic arms of Queen Anne (…is it too late to enroll as a student??)…
Then, as if that weren’t enough, the venue also offers Ramsay Hall which in Sarah and Aaron’s case was the perfect space for an evening drinks reception, cake cutting, cheese and biscuit buffet and a ceilidh! Ramsay Hall is a short walk from Magdalene College but who would complain when the walk takes you along a tree-lined pathway by the River Cam! I can’t get enough of the picturesque character of Cambridge and this little stroll allows wedding guests to enjoy it all!
I think it goes without saying, I would LOVE to return to Magdalene College in Cambridge for another wedding. If that’s you, please do get in touch and tell me all about your plans! :)
