Nina and Harri… YOU MADE IT! The seemingly endless road that was your 2-year long distance relationship has officially come to an end. You made it to the finish line. Nina walked down that aisle. You pledged your love to one another in front of God and all of your loved ones. You are now HUSBAND and WIFE!
St. John’s Church in Keynsham, Bristol was filled pew to pew with hundreds of family and friends. In a ceremony filled with so many happy tears, you could tangibly feel what these two felt- the pure joy and utter relief that came from seeing a tough season of separation come to an end and a new season full of hope and unity finally begin.
Following the ceremony, I followed the wedding party to Bath Spa University for photographs. That might sound odd at first, but you’ll see why if you keep scrolling… ;) After, we reunited with the wedding guests at Conygre Hall in Timsbury for a Disney themed afternoon tea and speeches.
These two are an inspiration to many that when it counts (and in this story, it really counted) distance can bring you closer together, not further apart. Nina and Harri had their fair share of goodbyes at train station platforms, but no more! Only hellos and welcome homes for them now.
When the vicar gives you a thumbs up, you can be doubly sure you’re on the right track. ;)
When you’re finally announced husband and wife and then the tears come… again!
A powerful moment of close friends and family praying over the newlyweds…
Introducing the new Mr & Mrs Elmer to their very own Mad Hatter tea party… in style, I should add!
Nina dedicated the theme of their wedding to her Nan who recently passed away. Her name was Alice and from what I could gather she had a beautiful, even magical spirit about her. Without a doubt, the Alice In Wonderland theme was truly fitting.
After her speech, Nina sang a beautiful cover of Somewhere Over the Rainbow. She dedicated the song to her Nan and said, “For she is truly in wonderland…”
Nina and Harri, thank you a hundred times over for having me as your photographer. From the first email you sent me titled “Wedding Photographer Required! #FirstChoice” to my train journey to Bath Spa for your engagement photos, to finally your wedding day, it has been nothing but enjoyable. I can’t wait to see where this next road takes you… together. Congratulations, you two. <3
