Over Easter, Joel and I flew across the pond to visit my family in Washington state! As you can imagine, it was an incredibly wonderful time- like balm to the soul! While we were in the Northwest I booked a senior photo shoot with a family friend Kallye, and what better location to have this photo shoot than downtown Seattle at Pike Place Market?!
So in the car we went down the I-5 into the state’s capital arriving on the busy streets of Seattle’s famous waterfront market. This high school senior was an absolute rock star the entire session and let me pose her in a booming, crowded market while dozens of people passed by giving her some very strange looks! I loved that Kallye threw in ideas of her own alongside a bit of direction me (not like she needed it!) as well as my mom’s creative input over my shoulder. Thanks mom! ;)
I don’t know if I could pick a favourite image! I love them all and I couldn’t be more pleased to hear Kallye loves them too! Congratulations miss Kallye on your senior year in high school and thank you for booking me to document this stepping stone in your life as you go on to bigger and better things!
If you’re from Washington, chances are you have heard and probably even seen first hand the Gum Wall. It is exactly what it sounds like- a wall covered in chewing gum! This infamous wall located in Post Alley in downtown Seattle was recently cleaned, but even so has been rapidly covered in colorful gum yet again. Due to tourists crowding the alley with their own cameras, we weren’t able to get a photo directly in front of the wall, but instead took a few steps to the side and grabbed a couple pictures still capturing the layered graffiti and a few stray bits of that everlasting gum- ew! ;)
I first found this hole-in-a-wall (quite literally so!) coffee shop on a coffee tour with my dad a few years ago. Who knew I would return to Ghost Alley Espresso years later for a photo shoot!
