If you were following me on Instagram and Facebook over Christmas, you might remember my HKP advent photo challenge! My idea for this challenge was to take a photo every day leading up to Christmas that had a joyful, cheery holiday theme! It was so much fun to check my feeds every day and see so many people involved, posting their photos and getting creative! The winner of this challenge, whoever posted the correct photo each day, won a free 30-minute photo shoot. On Boxing Day I put all the names in a hat and picked a name at random. I was so pleased to pick Joel and Juliet and announce them as the winners!
I happen to know Joel and Juliet from studying with them in Coventry and photographing their wedding at Boxgrove Village Hall in Chichester last summer so I was really excited to catch up with them in Birmingham and give them the gift of a couple photo shoot!
Joel and Juliet wanted a photo shoot that could document them digging their roots down into their new hometown in Warwickshire. For this reason, the Birmingham canal seemed to be the best location. We met by the canal for a few fun and natural portraits and continued shooting as we walked through the city. The urban backgrounds and a few strung lights left over from Christmas was perfect for this couple shoot.
Enjoy a few of my favourites below! Congratulations once again Joel and Juliet!
What do you think? Should we do a 2016 HKP advent photo challenge?!
