They met in Coventry studying music at Nexus ICA, where I also had the pleasure of getting to know them as friends! For months it seemed as if nothing more than a mutual friendship was going on between them, however, behind the scenes, God was doing work on their hearts preparing them for one day becoming husband and wife. In the summer of their last year at Nexus, they started dating. By Christmas their minds were made up; Luke got down on one knee and asked Sharon to marry him. The saying proves true… when you know, you know!
In August this year, they stood at the altar of Elim church in front of their family and friends and vowed to love each other for the rest of their lives. An eruption of applause came so quickly the pastor didn’t even have time to finish the line, “I now pronounce you, husband and wife. You may kiss the bride!” Luke and Sharon were in fits of laughter. They allowed the applause to go on for a few more moments before having their first kiss as husband and wife to an encore of even more cheering and acclamation!
I do have to make a note that as a budding photographer, Sharon was so excited about the beautiful weather we were having that week. And even when it started to rain on the morning of her wedding, it did not dampen her mood one bit. Her cheeks were sore by midday smiling through the rain, the dark clouds and the cancelation of their planned picnic in the park. Her attitude as a bride was truly admirable and her and Luke laughed, danced and celebrated with their closest friends and family regardless.
I couldn’t have been happier to be a part of your wedding day, Luke and Sharon! Not only as a photographer but also as a friend! I truly hope you adore your photos and look back on your wedding day as one of the BEST of many more together!
All my love,
Hannah
