One thing I love about dating my husband is that there are NO rules!! Nobody is telling us that we have to stay indoors, nobody is forcing us to date each other ONLY on Friday nights, and nobody is pressuring us to fall into any sort of routine or fit into any sort of category. We can do ANYTHING!
Since the start of the new year, Joel and I decided to schedule “Adventure Days” into our calendar for the following months and even summer wedding season where we knew we would be the busiest and the most tired. We knew that if we didn’t schedule “Adventure Days” into the calendar ahead of time, other appointments would take their place. So far we’ve hiked in the Brecon Beacons, Black Mountains, Matlock Bath and have taken road trips to the beach. We’ve also just scheduled a very exciting and nerve-racking adventure for October…. more on that coming soon!! ;)
Granted, not every week allows us the time to take a road trip and hike a mountain, but when the opportunity arises we snatch it up because we know how good it is for us! Yes, it is a lot of effort. Yes, it takes nearly a whole day rather than an evening. In that sense it’s inconvenient, but we’d rather be inconvenienced and our lungs filled with fresh air, our muscles exercised and our spirits refreshed than not. Sometimes you just need to take the extra step and shake things up a bit! You can do WHATEVER you want! Don’t let tiredness and work stresses hold you back… (note to self).
So this week’s date night idea looks a bit more like a date DAY, and that’s okay. I’m sure we can all take a Saturday, Sunday or bank holiday Monday (hint* hint*) and do something a little out of the ordinary!
Here are some great places we would recommend and some that we’ve yet to try! The cost is nothing more than petrol, food and possibly parking.
