Michelle and Rich are just lovely. They are getting married this June at Warwick House and I couldn’t be happier to be their wedding photographer! When it came time to book their engagement photo shoot (included with all wedding bookings!!) meeting in Kenilworth where Michelle grew up seemed only fitting. Michelle and Rich both have a love for the outdoors and countryside so we had lots of fun wandering around Kenilworth Castle with the castle ruins in the background. We came prepared with wellies and umbrellas and luckily the rain held off just long enough that only our wellies were needed for sloshing through the muddy fields!
You might be surprised by this, but pretty much 99% of my couples say they are initially nervous and awkward in front of the camera. That’s pretty much EVERYONE!
To help Michelle and Rich relax into their engagement shoot, I made sure to give them plenty of things to do and talk about to take their minds off the camera and onto each other! I never want to force a moment or mold and shape people like play dough into the ‘perfect pose’. Instead, I try to give direction that will allow two people to react in a natural way that is true to who they are as a couple.
I loved seeing Michelle and Rich show more and more of themselves as they joked and bear hugged- especially when Rich surprised Michelle by picking her up and swinging her around. That’s right! I had no say in this. I simply asked them to walk towards each other and do whatever they wanted!
Getting married in Warwickshire? I have a few 2018 and 2019 dates still available! Please do get in touch about your wedding photography. I’d love to hear from you!
