Naomi emailed me the week Chris proposed, asking to meet up after seeing my wedding photos of a mutual friend’s wedding. Shout out to the one and only Dave and Beth Cutteridge!
I booked them in as soon as I could and we talked over latte’s (Chris had a tea, as only a true Englishman would!) about how Chris popped the question and how they just can’t wait to get married this October at Alveston Pastures Farm in Stratford-upon-Avon.
To Naomi, it seemed like an ordinary Sunday morning where she went to church and made plans for a family lunch after. Chris, however, had other plans. Instead of letting Naomi go to lunch, he took her on one of their favorite woodland walks. Naomi was a little miffed to start, but couldn’t help enjoy her time with Chris walking through the woods as they had done so many times before.
To her surprise, Chris took her hand and told her to close her eyes. She thought he had only lead her to a bench to sit down, but when she opened her eyes hundreds of fairy lights, bunting and decorative pom poms hung in the trees surrounding them and Chris was on one knee with a ring in his hand. Through lots of laughter, hugs and squeals I’m sure, Naomi said yes to spending the rest of her life with Chris by her side.
When Naomi told me they wanted their engagement shoot in a forest with bluebells… I had no idea it would like THIS! She wasn’t exaggerating when she said the wood was literally covered in them.
I can’t better describe this evening with Naomi and Chris other than that it was magical. It was peaceful and undisturbed, the light golden. We listened to their favorite band, Rend Collective, and captured them doing things they love most- woodland walks, cosying up and The Lord of The Rings!
I am a sucker for unique engagement rings! Naomi’s was wielded uniquely for her by Chris’ friend who is a goldsmith. Her ring is truly the only one of its kind!
I am over the moon to be Naomi and Chris’ wedding photographer! Their book-themed wedding with rustic, country-chic details is going to be all kinds of wonderful. Stay tuned…!
