It all started when Katy and Josh were introduced to each other by a mutual friend… a friend who should take great pride in making a perfect match! ;) Some years late on a white sandy beach in Clearwater, Florida, a stranger got out their camera and captured Josh getting down on one knee and asking Katy to be his wife! This is one wild coincidence because I used to live five minutes from the very same beach where this proposal took place!
After many excitable emails and a meet up over gin and tonics in Leamington Spa, we planned for their engagement shoot to be in Leamington a few weeks before the wedding day at Wethele Manor. We managed to miss the rain one evening and find a quiet spot in the park. The sun had set behind the clouds and the air was misty but warm. It’s common to think grey skies make for dark and moody photos, but I say, “Au contraire!” Grey skies can actually create light and airy, soft and romantic photographs which I like to think they did for Katy and Josh.
I loved getting to know Katy and Josh during their engagement session and seeing how they interact with each other and what makes them laugh. Their engagement photo shoot was all around natural, relaxed and fun. My three favorite words! This bride and groom don’t need bells and whistles. They’re so into each other and express their love for each other so naturally, it made my job easy. Just wait ’till you see the wedding photos!!
