You may recognize this family as I’ve been having a family photo shoot with them every year for the last 4 years!!
The Wrights have a special place in my heart. Each year, each photo shoot has put a unique stamp on my career as a photographer and storyteller. I know each year has put a unique stamp on their family legacy also.
In such a short space of time, the Wrights have seen both ends of the spectrum- the most ecstatic joy and the most unimaginable loss. Every year, whether enduring a storm (sometimes quite literally… see our photo shoot during storm Brian here!) or in a season of celebration, they have asked to have a family photo shoot.
They have never tried to be a perfect version of a family or wanted to have perfect pictures. They have simply shown up, as they are, and invited me to document it. The way the Wrights value natural photography resonates with me in so many ways!
I write this post with excitement and also a little sadness as the Wright family are moving back to America and most likely, this is our last photo shoot together. I know wholeheartedly that wherever they go they will find a photographer because capturing memories and documenting their life together is so important to them. To those photographers, I say you are so freakin’ lucky to meet this family!!
Thank you, Wright family, for inviting me and Joel to your home in Wales for so many years. Thank you for your friendship and for showing us so much beauty in the small town of Llanfairfechan. I know it’s really going to miss you. :) There is so much goodness on the road ahead for you. I cannot wait to see where God leads you next!
Rebekah and Brian are very transparent about their journey and Rebekah has a blog online where she shares their story of having hope in loss. I’m so glad I could give them so many photos to help tell these stories <3.
