This wedding was more than a destination wedding in Middelburg, Netherlands. This was one of my favorite adventures of 2018!! Our dear friends Loic and Talitha got married in the Netherlands, Joel was a groomsman and I was asked to photograph the day alongside being a beloved guest with a handful of our friends who also joined us from the UK.
Joel and I met Loic in England while studying music together and when he moved back to the Netherlands and met Talitha, we knew she would have to be amazing if she was with Loic! I remember shaking my head on their wedding day wondering how on earth our paths crossed in the first place. I know it’s nothing short of God’s work in our lives.
Individually and even more so together, Loic and Talitha are two of the kindest people I have ever met. They are two people who just overflow with goodness and grace and it enriches your life instantly. We are so blessed to know them and both Joel and I feel so grateful to have met their generous and incredibly kind families and to have played these special roles on their wedding day.
Loic and Talitha are also very down to earth and wanted to put the utmost care into spending time with their friends and family who traveled from France and the UK and the Netherlands to celebrate with them. They didn’t need tons of details or extras, they simply celebrated with the people they love the most.
The ceremony was held in a gorgeous church in Koorkerkhof which is a small town in Middelburg that is full of character and also made a great backdrop for the bride and groom photos! After tea and cake at the church, guests arrived at a village hall in Arnemuiden for toasts, dinner, and wine and literally the best game ever played at a wedding that got wayyyy too competitive (I’m looking at you Joel)… which made it even better. ;)
In the evening a slideshow was played featuring videos and photos of Loic and Talitha growing up. There were a lot of tears and equally a lot of laughs. It was really beautiful to see how special these memories were to both families and capturing that in photographs was really valuable. To top off the night, The Innovators, an awesome UK function band kept us dancing until we literally had to pack up the venue! Loic used to play bass for the band and Talitha, also being musical and an incredible singer, had a Beyoncé debut on stage and absolutely killed it!!
HUGE congratulations to these two!! Thank you both so so so much for asking me to be your wedding photographer and allowing me to capture these memories for you. What an awesome day and a perfect way to start your married life together! Love you guys!!!
