She always had a thing for the heavy metal screamer on stage. When all her friends fancied the guitarist, she was falling for the bass player. Who would have thought that at a late night gig in a dark smoky venue, she would find the man who would one day be her best friend and partner for life.
Fast forward 6 years to December 2016 when Rich took Holly on a weekend away in Yorkshire. It was there in the northern countryside and woodlands that he knelt down and asked his girlfriend to be his wife. Without hesitation, she said yes!
Having a mutual love for the outdoors, we decided on Chasewater Country Park near their home in Walsall, Birmingham for their engagement shoot. Holly and Rich asked if they could bring smoke bombs to their photo shoot that matched their wedding colors- music to my ears! I could tell these two were adventurous and knew we were a good match for each other before we even met!
Meeting Holly and Rich at Chasewater was like meeting two old friends. I had so much fun with these two in Cannock clambering through the trees and mud to find just the right spot. Not to mention the incredible sunset on the beach to finish the shoot!
Their connection towards each other is as real as it gets. It’s obvious there is more than young love and infatuation- there is a deep, intentional bond between them. It was a beautiful thing to capture.
I cannot wait to photograph Holly and Rich’s wedding ceremony this September at Saint John’s Methodist Church in Walsall and their celebration later on at Burntwood Memorial Institute!
