We were both quite nervous about being in front of the camera, but Hannah quickly made us both feel really relaxed and comfortable. She was open to all our ideas of the different photos we wanted and the theme we were going with, and also had loads of her own great ideas. We absolutely love all the photos, there are so many different pictures and poses, that we have a huge selection of favourites! We both really enjoyed the engagement shoot and had so much fun. We can’t wait to have Hannah take our wedding photos next year as we know they’ll be amazing!
After having to cancel Emma and James’ engagement shoot multiple times due to torrential rain and storm warnings, we finally spotted a clear evening in September and immediately snatched it up! A day later Joel and I were driving to Maidstone, Kent in hopes of beating the sunset and capturing all that Emma had been planning for months!
We arrived at James’ family farm where Emma had set up a super cute picnic scene detailing her love for photography and reading. A few dark clouds were looming, but the sun came out for a brief minute or two and gave us a beautiful summery scene. There was pink lemonade to share, balloons, a tipi (handmade!) kisses and abundant laughter – what more could you ask for?! This engagement session was full of free-spirited, easy-going vibes that wrapped up the summer season perfectly and even hinted into the coming autumn season (you’ll see why, below!) I have to give credit to Emma for taking initiative and creating such a wonderful set up. Her hand in the shoot made my job 110% easier and her ideas couldn’t have been more fitting!
Emma and James were SO much fun; they had Joel and I in fits of laughter! We bounced ideas off of each other, we chatted and laughed and lost track of time. We were warmly invited into their home for a cup of tea before making the trip back to Coventry and even though we met as strangers, I now feel like we’re friends. :)
Emma and James have their wedding date set for April next year and I simply cannot wait to photograph it. I have no doubt there’s going to be magical, creative goodness all over again!!
James’ promise ring to Emma…!
I may be a little biased, but engagement rings with color are just the best! ;)
Our brief moment of sunshine!
Isn’t Emma’s flower crown simply perfect!?
Credit to James for this piece of art! ;)
And… cue the coming autumn season!!
